Hi all,
I recently ordered some great stuff with Yuri from GZG but, when we met to split the order (and have a beer), we decided also to trade some of the minis we already had.
So I now have... 15-16 more ARC Fleet Light Recon from Critical Mass Games!
Just by surfing on this blog you might understand how much I love these minis, in my opinion they are so well proportioned and their uniform is just perfectly fitting my taste.
They remember me a bit Halo's ODST and that is pretty good too!
So, since I will have to paint some more of them (and I'm thinking to order a dozen more and make an army) I made some reference tables to study new color schemes for them, please enjoy :)
Let me know if you like/will use any of them for your minis!
Cheers
Andrea

Song of Blades and Heroes tryouts
Hi all,
and sorry for posting so infrequently in the last months.
Still, me and my gaming buddies are planning some cool things for the next months: in fact we discovered a new brand of rules we all are really IN LOVE with: I'm talking about Andrea's Sfiligoi Ganesha Games rulesets.
We knew about GG but never tried anything before and... damn, these games are really good!
You can really play your game in a couple of hours and the mechanics themselves deliver lot of fun... in fact, while being incredibly easy to manage (a couple of turns to teach players how to play and bookkeeping near to not-at-all), you will spot some very subtle findings able to make your game quite unpredictable: in other words, you need some strategy or you are dead.
At the moment we played 3 or 4 times with Andrea's fantasy rules, and Affro recently bought a copy of Mighty Monsters and Samurai Robots Battle Royale... so you can imagine how we look forward to play again!
Plans for the future:
- other fantasy 28mm games with SoBaH
- a 15mm Sci Fi Project using Flying Lead (I already own a copy, I only think we'll need to trimmer rules down a bit since it is quite dense in our opinion compared with other GG rulesets)
Lastly, I put together some of the -horrible, I admit- pictures taken from one of our last games... please enjoy an example of punished hubris :D
Cheers

Not dead yet - and BatRep
Hi,
long time has gone since I wrote my last post because of real life calling... and Skyrim.
It always has a role in procrastination.
BUT... I'm still here and in these months I had some good gaming with my mates Affro, Mr BBocci (if you don't know his masterpieces, you should go to: http://www.artflakes.com/en/shop/matteo-bocci) and Yuri, so my patient girfriend will not hear me telling her about game rules for a while.
Maybe.
Btw: we fought a great scenario prepared by Yuri with the rules of THW CR3 using 15mm minis. The backgound and rules were GREAT, but we had very unlucky dies in our hands and in the end there were not much action.
The plot was about finding/neutralizing gunrunners with a stealth approach and then kick the buyer's a$$ as soon as they appeared... quite fun!
The scenario was full of Yuri's greatly painted 15mm civilians and since we are a bunch of good guys the engaging rules were focused on civilians preservation.
Here are some pics:
First building, first room to clear. Paper maps are Yuri's and they may be from Cyberpunk -but not sure, I have to ask him again-.
ME:
"Where are the bad guys? Tell me!"
- roll d6
"I don't know"
"Oh."
- Guys, can I shoot him?
- No. Rules of Engagement. We are supposed to be the good guys.
- Damn.
Mr BBocci:
"Where? Tell me!"
- roll d6
"I don't know"
"Umf."
- Guys, can I shoot these two?
- No. Rules of Engagement. We are supposed to be the good guys.
- Damn.
Affro's team explores the tabletop trying to reveal a PEF
Affro's team gets miserably lost in the swamp
Some people look to Affro's team and think no one will go back home
Affro's team approaches the last shack.
No one from his team came back home (5 Sahadeens inside with a LMG).
However, in the next batrep I'll post you'll see Affro taking his revenge... against me.
Cheers

SECRET WARS of Zombieland!
Hi!
further some encouraging feedback I had to my "Sci-Fi dungeon Crawling" free-game SECRET WARS, I'm putting together a small yet hopefully fun expansion: let me introduce you GENCOM: Genetic Commerce.
Cheers,
Andrea
further some encouraging feedback I had to my "Sci-Fi dungeon Crawling" free-game SECRET WARS, I'm putting together a small yet hopefully fun expansion: let me introduce you GENCOM: Genetic Commerce.
In the world of SECRET WARS, where the Earth we know is
broken and sick, Governments are just representative and what rules the world is
the brutal Corporation, big and small conflicts turn up daily... a tragedy for someone but -as it always is- a lucrative business for someone else.
GENCOM is a new but powerful Company. Born as a medical research institute focused on bio-implants and genetic manipulation, it has quickly become a player in the black market of Bio-Weapons and it is rumored to have connections with some of the Nations which claims independence and aim to undermine the Corporation's hegemony.
And here comes your oppurtunity as a Corporative Cell Commander: the Intellighentias have nothing against infected Zombies, snarling Bio-Hulks or small conflicts which sustain the world's bloody Economy... but GENCOM business is slowly becoming more and more troublesome and time consuming to handle in an official way and the Corporation is not going to tolerate it anymore.
So the matter will be not treated on a meeting table nor in an open conflict, but with the quick and surgical action of a chosen group of Agents.
So stay tuned for the update and let me know if you like the game or not: any comment or review will be much appreciated and blessed by the Gods of Heavy Metal and Miniatures enthusiasts!

End of 2012's Hero Quest
Happy new
Year!
It’s been a long absence but I’m back - and we all are here, despite all Maya’s previsions...
Not much
gaming in these last months, still I’d like to share few pics of the nice Hero Quest
game me and few friends had during the night
of the last 2012 day!
Since I was
very lazy around 2 am, my thanks go to Francesco and his mobile phone..
This
is the
crucial point of the game: the Heroes have found a Nurgle sorcerer
(warhammer fluff is still fantastic fantasy background in my opinion…),
coming
with a personal guard of Chaos Warriors and a mutated dog (a beast that
tore
apart -and I mean dead, dead, dead- 2 players before being taken down...
ok, here you see him down because of a "sleep" spell, but it woke up the turn after in a baaaaad mood)
A Mage summoned
Djiin helped a lot in beating the bad guy but in the end the 2 surviving
heroes were left just 1 Body Point each.. a very tough but funny game!
For this new year, I’d like to put together a couple of things:
-
Add
some scenarios to Secret wars (if anyone tried it, please kindly send me a
comment)
-
Maybe -I still don’t know - create a quick and fast conversion to play HeroQuest with WH40k
background. I know there is/was Space Crusade –or StarQuest- out there, but it is does not
have exactly the same feeling Hero Quest has... (WH40k HQ should in my opinion look closer
to a very simplified “Inquisitor” game)
Cheers,
Andrea
